PHOTOS

Please note that photos which do not correspond to the format described in the application form will not be accepted. Photo Tips: If the applicant’s chest appears in the photo, the face is too small. Do not use photo booths.

CHANGE OF NAME

All original documentation justifying the change of name must be provided. Change of name by marriage for a national born in Australia can only be accepted if accompanied by an original certificate issued by a registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages in Australia. All foreign documents must be translated into English by a court interpretor.

PASSPORT APPLICATIONS FOR MINORS 

GUARANTORS

These may be Australian citizens who are over 18, not related to or living with the applicant, and who hold a current full validity Australian passport, or any non-Australian professional from the following categories: Doctors of Medicine; Dentists; Pharmacists; Registered Nurses; Certified Accountants; Barristers, Solicitors or Lawyers; Chartered Engineers; Judges of the Court; Police Officers; Civil Servants; Members of the Armed Forces (minimum 5 years continuous service); full-time teachers (minimum 5 years continuous service, Veterinary Surgeons, Bank Managers, Clerks of Court, Marriage Celebrants, Postal Managers and Optometrists.

ADULT RENEWAL OF A FULL VALIDITY PASSPORT

If you hold a full validity adult passport that has not expired for more than 12 months, then you may qualify for the simplified PC7 form: Australian Passport Renewal Application. Please contact The Consular Section for details, or download the form from www.passports.gov.au.

In the Republic of Serbia and in the Republic of Montenegro

For stay up to 90 days in the Republic of Serbia and in the Republic of Montenegro, Australian tourists no longer require a visa.

Foreign Currency
 

In the Republic of Serbia and in the Republic of Montenegro

There is a requirement to declare foreign currency in excess of EUR 2000 (approximately AUD 3,500), together with valuables (such as lap tops, video cameras, jewellery, etc) upon entry and obtain from customs officials a declaration receipt that must be presented at departure. Failure to comply may result in temporary confiscation. Australians should also familiarise themselves with the local currency import and export regulations for the Republic of Serbia and for the Republic of Montenegro.


Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia

You are required to declare all foreign currency on arrival in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. Failure to do so may result in detention and forfeiture of undeclared funds.
Romania

Registration with the Ministry of Interior

In the Republic of Serbia and in the Republic of Montenegro

All foreigners entering the Republic of Serbia and in the Republic of Montenegro are obliged to register their place of residence with the local Ministry of Interior (Ministarstvo Unutrasnjih Poslova) within 24 hours of arrival. For those visitors staying in hotels, registration is done as a part of a check in process. However for persons staying with family or friends in a private home, registration is required to be done at the nearest police station. Failing to register can result in fines and / or detention.


Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia

All Foreigners entering the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia are required to register their place of residence within 24 hours of arrival. For those visitors staying in hotels, registration is done as a part of a check in process. However for persons staying with family or friends in a private home, registration is required to be done at the nearest police sation within 3 days of arrival. Failure to do so can result in fines and delays in departure.


Romania

All Foreigners entering Romania should register with the local Police Station within 3 days of arrival. EU citizens are excepted. For those visitiotrs staying in a hotel registration is done as part of the check in process. However persons staying with family or friends in a private home, registration is required to be done at the nearest Police Station. Failing to register can result in fines.

Drivers Licences

Renewal of Australian Drivers Licence

An Australian citizen who wishes to renew his/her Australian driver's licence while overseas should contact the appropriate State licensing authority in Australia to obtain renewal documentation. This documentation should be completed and returned to the licensing authority in Australia where a new drivers licence is then issued.

Driving in the Republic of Serbia

Australian citizens may drive in the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Montenegro on their Australian Drivers licence for a period of six months. Visitors remaining in the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Montenegro for more than six months should replace their valid Australian drivers licence for a drivers licence of the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Montenegro in the same category.

Australian Citizens may drive in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia on their Australian Drivers Licence indefinitely providing their licence is accompanied by an official translation.

Driving in Romania

Australian Citizens may drive in Romania on their Australian drivers licence for a period of 90 days. For those remaining in Romania more than 90 days it is recommended that an International Drivers Licence valid for 12 months is obtained prior to travel. In this case Australian citizens can drive in Romania for a period of one year using their domestic licence in conjunction with the International Drivers Licence.

Australian citizens staying in Romania more then twelve months cannot exchange their Australian Drivers Licence for a Romanian Drivers Licence. Australians staying in Romania longer then twelve months may obtain a Romanian Drivers Licence only if they pass the driving exam.
